New Updates for Vital Quest ver 4 users! Print E-mail

New updates on molluscs are available for Vital Quest ver 4 Users Now!

These updates are only for VitalQuest Version-4 users (English and French)

Please follow the steps as described.

1. If Vital Quest software is running then please Quit ‘Vital Quest’.

For Windows operating System

‘VQupdateEngine’ icon will be on desktop. If not then click on ‘Start’ -->All programs’--> ‘VitalQuest’. On clicking on ‘Vital Quest’ one of the option you will see is ‘VQupdateEngine’

(If you don’t see the option on your desktop or the option is not working – please go to Mycomputer -->C drive -->program files --> "Vital Quest4" folder.  Here you will see a file with the same name ‘VQupdateEngine’).

For Macintosh Operating System

When you install VitalQuest there are three icons that come up on the Desktop of your computer. One of them is ‘VQupdateEngine’. (If you don’t find it, please go to Mac Hard disc -->Applications -->Vital Quest folder. you will see the file ‘VQupdateEngine’)

When you click on ‘VQupdateEngine’ it will show a screen with the warning to quit VitalQuest if you are running it. Click on ‘Yes’ to go ahead.

3. Make sure your computer is connected to internet and click on the ‘Update’ button.

4. The process will start and you will see a screen with the options to download.

 English users  -  Select “ENGLISH_VQ_Version4_Mollusks”

 DO NOT select FRENCH_VQ_Version4_Mollusks

 French users – Select FRENCH_VQ_Version4_Mollusks

 DO NOT select ENGLISH_VQ_Version4_Mollusks

(French users please note that the updates of mollusks are in English)

5. Tick the appropriate folder and click ‘Update’. (after clicking on the button once, it may take few seconds to start the process, so please do not click again).

6. Once the process is over, it will ask you to select a location to save a backup file. (this file gives you the list of files downloaded and it is just for your reference, not needed for functioning of VitalQuest) Please select the location (preferably desktop) and click save. You will see a folder ‘ListOfUpdatedFiles’ saved in that location.

7. If you have any troubles downloading the files or midway it shows some error message, there is a probability that internet connection was interrupted. In such a case, please follow the step one onwards again. It will continue downloading further.

Total download may take few minutes depending upon the internet speed.
